This course is for learners who must demonstrate the ability to conduct a risk assessment in the workplace. It equips learners to prepare for and conduct risk assessments, identify hazards and associated risks, and initiate remedial actions.
Course Overview
The practical course provides learners with the tools and skills needed to carry out hazard identification and risk assessments in their workplace. Its aim is to enable learners to make responsible and informed contributions to workplace health and safety.
Day 1 Includes
- Theory
- Training from 08:00 to 16:00
- Two 15-minute breaks
- In-class assessments

- Explain the application of different types of risk assessments.
- Explain the importance of ensuring that personal protective equipment is available, operational, fit for purpose and used in accordance with its design and specified requirements.
- Explain the health and safety consequences associated with PPE requirements.
- Select and train team members in a manner that fosters teamwork and avoids conflict.
- Explain required arrangements relating to venues, sites and attendance according to the selected methodology.
